After a long and courageous battle with cancer Robert George Sharer passes away on Sunday, September 24, 2023. He leaves his wife, Carol, of 64 years and children Larry (Kim), Terry (Jill), and Suzie (Guy ) Doval, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Jackie (Hugh) Cook, step-sisters Heather (Wayne) Darroch, Gail (Ted) Ruddy and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Elora to George and Elinor Sharer, the younger brother of Joy (Lloyd) Smith (deceased), Joan (Jack) Nixon (deceased) and Jackie. He grew up in Fergus and joined Scotia Bank in 1958, married Carol in 1959. His work took him to Guelph, Toronto, Sarnia, Thornhill, London, Kapuskasing, Timmons, North Bay and Barrie. He retired as Area Manager while living Nobleton. Throughout the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, curling, golf, gardening, woodworking and carving. Community volunteerism included Rotary, Nobleton United Church, Synchro Ontario and King Curling.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Nobleton United Church, 6076 King Road, Nobleton on Saturday, November 4th from 1 – 4 o’clock.
