Robert Frederick «Bud» Little
1940-2024
It is with heavy
hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Frederick
«Bud» Little, of North Kentville, on Monday,
November 4, 2024, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Bud was
84. Born in Victoria, BC, he was a son of the late Frederick and
Davina (Erskine) Little. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend.
Bud found the love of
his life Diane in Nova Scotia and on their honeymoon drove to Montreal
to start his career and their new life adventure. They spent several
years in Montreal, then moved the family to Edmonton, and settled in
Ontario until retirement. Bud and Diane moved back to Nova Scotia in
their retirement years to be closer to their siblings and re-connect
with their roots.
Bud spent his career
in the field of pyrotechnics and plastics, always happy to discuss the
adventures in his retirement years.
Bud was active in the
heart healthy programs offered at the hospital. Visiting other
patients prior to surgeries, attending exercise and cooking classes,
and working as a volunteer in fund raising efforts.
Bud and Diane where
both active member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic church and
attending many programs with their church community.
In 2011, after several
years of work, Bud was able to open the newly created Fundy Food Bank
in Kentville. This was a project that gave Bud great joy and the
ability to meet many community members, spreading his joy of telling
bad puns.
He will be missed by
his daughter, Deneen (Brian) Shewan, Sackville NS; daughter-in-law,
Magda Little, Ottawa ON; grandchildren, Benjamin, Pascha, Halla and
Aelsa; extended family and friends.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Diane (Rondeau) and son,
Randall «Randy».
Visitation will be
held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. A funeral Mass (with livestream), followed by
a reception, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024,
in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father
John MacPherson officiating. Interment will take place in the Serenity
Garden Cemetery, Centreville.
Donations in memory
may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or your local
foodbank. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
