HANEY, Robert Charles George Sr. (May 26, 1951 – January 11, 2023)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our much-loved father and grandfather, Robert Charles George Haney, at the VON Sakura House, Woodstock, on January 11, 2023, at the age of 71. Robert (Bob) will be remembered as a former employee at Johnson’s Controls and KTN Taxi Driver in Tillsonburg, before retiring. Robert (Bob) loved his family. He had great passion and talent for hunting, was a long-time darts player and Bob entered many bass fishing derbies with his pal Joe, as well as leisure fishing trips with family and friends.
Lovingly remembered by his children and their partners: Lisa Stefan (Mark), of Delhi; Robert Haney (Christine), of Norwich; Laura Haney (William), of Scotland. Always a caring grandfather to: Cody (Delaney), Courtney (Chris), Amber (Owen), Jennifer, Summer, Taylor (Matt), Teara (Ethan), Tyler, RyLynn, and Malia. Special great-grandfather to: Oliviah, Sophia, and Stella. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Harry Haney (1977) and Velma Haney (Fick) (1973) and by his brother Stanley Haney (2015).
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (16 Durham St., Tillsonburg) on Sunday, January 29th, 2023, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join Bob’s children and grandchildren to share favourite stories and condolences. Memorial donations may be made to the “VON Oxford” (to benefit Sakura House Hospice), or to the “Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 153” (Tillsonburg) or to the “Long Point Regional Conservation Authority” via Bob’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting Maurice J.
