It is with deep sorrow
we announce the passing of Robert Bruce Thomson of Canning on Sunday,
July 7, 2024, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Robert was
93.
Robert was born in
Canning in 1930 and was one of five children of the late John and
Blanche (Spicer) Thomson.
Robert worked a lot of
different labour jobs over the course of his life. He loved camping
and going to jam sessions with his wife, Evelyn. He was a member of
the Saint James Anglican Church, Canning.
Robert leaves to mourn
his children, Timothy, Canning and Karen Hares, Kentville;
grandchildren, Brenton Hares (Jamie), Halifax and Dustin Hares,
Halifax; son-in-law, David Hares and extended family.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Evelyn (Weisner); a
brother, Bill and sisters, Nona, Isebel and Mary.
In keeping with
Roberts wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no
visitation, by request, and a graveside service will be held at a
later date. Donations in memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation, Kentville.
