Robert «Bobby» Gordon Dykeman
1943-2024
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Robert Gordon
Dykeman, share the news of his passing on July 19,
2024, at Bobby’s Hospice in
Saint John NB. Born in McAdam NB November 15, 1943, he was
the only child of the late Eldon and Ethel (Grant)
Dykeman.
Bobby served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 26 and a half
years, of which he took great pride. After retirement he and Edna
moved back to New Brunswick and settled in Nerepis.
Bobby had many interests over the years and appreciated the
challenge of learning a new skill or hobby, the most recent being bee
keeping and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography,
reading and taking care of his fur babies. He spent many hours in his
workshop creating wooden treasures for family and friends. His
favorite projects were those he made for his
grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his wife of
fifty-eight years Edna (Gowan) Dykeman, Maternal Grandmother Annie
Grant; Special Aunt and Uncle Eugene and Vesta Dykeman as well as
their daughter Patricia whom he affectionately referred to as his
«little sister»; special cousin Herald MacDonald; numerous
cousins and his fur babies Suzie, Lady, Buddy and
Venus.
Bobby will be deeply missed by daughter, Dana «Baby
Girl» (Pat) Little and son Andrew «#1 son»
(Daphne) Dykeman; Grandchildren Courtney Little, Nicholas Little, Amy
Dykeman, Zachary Dykeman and chosen grandson Andrew Little;
Great-grandchildren Scarlett and Bennett as well as his «little
sister’s» boys Chris and Greg Hildebrand; his numerous
cousins and many friends.
Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with
Dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside
service, open to all, will be held at the Bocabec Community Cemetery,
Wednesday July 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Brett MacDonald
officiating. The family invites you to join them in the hall
afterwards for refreshments. Donations in his memory may be made to an
animal shelter in your area.
Rest in peace Dad, we Love You Bunches.
