Obituary
It’s with sudden and great sadness we want to share the news of the passing of Robert Michael “Bob” Stevenson. The loving husband to Elizabeth “Betty” Stevenson and father to Benjamin “Ben” and Neil Stevenson died on the morning of Saturday, January 28, 2023, at his longtime home in Owen Sound, Ontario. He was 72. In his large, extended family, he was a son, brother, grandfather, uncle, dear friend and ‘Uncle Bob’ to people who will forever love him deeply. He touched the lives of many in the community of Owen Sound and dedicated much of his own life to providing opportunities for young people to learn and try their best through the power of sport, especially hockey. A teacher in his bones, Bob cared deeply about everyone he taught, mentored, and worked with in his career as a passionate educator and coach. He was a traveller and shared his passion for life and learning with friends and students around the world.
At a later date, there will be a celebration of Bob’s life in the community of Owen Sound — where his contributions will always be felt. His family will remember him privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Right to Play, Chapman House Hospice or OSHaRE would be appreciated. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family on-line at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
