Belanger – Robert “Bob”, it is with a very heavy heart that the family announces his sudden passing at home on March 29, 2024, at the age of 85.
Robert is the cherished son of the late Albert & Irene (Nadon). He was born in Espanola on August 18, 1938. He was the second youngest son and one of 8 siblings.
Robert married his sweetheart, Sylvia (Gordon), in August of 1959. They celebrated 64 years of marriage together. They had two children, Michel (predeceased by Elizabeth), born 1961, and Carmene St Pierre (Terry) born 1963, whom they have always been extremely proud of and enjoyed close loving relationships.
In 1990 and again in 1995, Robert became a Pèpère to his two grandsons, Tyler Courtemanche (Kayla) and Daniel Belanger. His happiest role was as a loving grandfather to his “two boys”.
Robert came from a large family. He was brother to Leo, Edna, Frank (Mianne), Lorraine, Yvonne, Min (Olga) and Maurice. He was a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In heaven, Robert joined his “best friend” Patches, and left behind a saddened Babette, his two little faithful canine companions whom he loved dearly.
Robert was a great friend to many over the years. He always enjoyed a good laugh and teasing, especially with anyone passing by the house while he manicured his beautiful grass and flowers. He was so proud of his yard and home, and it always showed.
We would like to thank Denys and Lise, our friends and neighbors, for always being there. He always knew he could count on you; we appreciate your kindness and friendship. Ronny, your visits were always enjoyed and brought his spirits up. To the nurses and caregivers that attended to him at home, we are all so grateful for your care and warmth.
The family is sorrowful to have had to say goodbye to their beloved, never would we have been ready. We will sadly miss you, for our remaining lives.

I have watched Robert toil for years, his yard showed true passion, such beauty…
I will bring him home, for My gardens here, he will be in his glory»
A carpenter of wood, true joy was time in his shop
«The stairway to heaven built by Me, he will maintain for his family*
For having missed him so, one day, each will come to unite…
Again together, forever, living as one in the light
All are welcome to join us for a church service at the St. Jude parish on Tuesday April 16th at 10:00 am, followed by a celebration of life at the Espanola Legion, downstairs in the Hong Kong room.
