June 30, 1944 – September 18, 2024
It is with great sadness I announce the passing of Robert, my husband, best friend, confidant, and helpmate. I already miss him greatly.
Bob was born in Halifax, and as an Air Force brat lived all over Canada and in France. After graduating in Saskatoon, he joined the Navy, serving 22 years in the regular force before retiring.
While living In Masset, Haida Gwaii, Bob was adopted by the Eagle Clan of the Haida Nation.. He returned to Saskatoon where he earned his M.Div. and was ordained as an Anglican Priest. He served as incumbent in the Lintlaw Saskatchewan and Millarville areas. During this time Bob also served as chaplain in the Reserves for 10 years.
Since our union we have travelled much of Canada, where I witnessed areas where he both lived and worked. We were two of the few people in Canada that can say we have waded in all three of our surrounding oceans, the Arctic in 2014, and most recently the Atlantic.
Bob loved collecting Canadian stamps with me, and we attended many shows over our years together. He enjoyed playing darts and was a fixture at the Turner Valley Legion league. Christmas was a favourite time of year where we decorated both indoor and out with thousands of lights, trees and a myriad of decorations.
Bob never lost his faith, and for the last number of years attended Red Deer Lake United Church.
Thanks to Rockyview Hospital unit 94 for their dedication, care and compassion, we both appreciated it greatly.
Special thanks to our family, friends, neighbours and church family for their love, care and support. I am grateful to Rev. Bill and Rev. Joanne for everything they have done to help me during this stressful time.
Rest in Heavenly Peace Bob.
A celebration of his life will be held at Red Deer Lake United Church October 19, 2024 at 2pm.
