Rick Alfred Rohrick was called to his heavenly home on Dec 7th, 2024, at the age of 75, after battling a long illness. He is survived by his loving family, including his best friend and beloved wife of 56 years, Linda; his son Preston (Candace), his daughters Melanie (Monty), Crystal (Scott), his 6 grandchildren Nathaniel, Paige, Austin, Riley, Eli, and Carter. His Brothers Earl and Randy (Cheryl). Plus, many more extended family members and beloved friends.
Rick was exceptionally clever and an astute observer of life. Education was very important to him. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History after high school and then went on to take accounting classes which he kept up throughout his life. In addition, Rick was well-read and kept abreast of current affairs and always offered an insightful and original take on topics that ran much deeper than a superficial opinion.
Rick was very athletic and loved sports. He curled, played softball and enjoyed a lifetime passion playing and watching football. He rarely missed his regular Sunday football marathons on TV.
In retirement, Rick enjoyed travel. He and Linda regularly vacationed in San Diego for six weeks each winter and enjoyed travels with family to Hawaii, Mexico and Europe as well.
Rick lived a full life. He cherished time with his family and enjoyed large family gatherings. He loved his home in Naramata and enjoyed warm summer days spent in his beautiful garden. His family looked up to him for his wisdom and regularly called on him for advice. His presence will be greatly missed but his legacy will live on in everyone who knew him.
Rick is now safe in the arms of Jesus. He is predeceased by his parents Doreen and Alfred, his Aunt Hazel and his sister Trudy. The family wishes to thank their wonderful mother, who lovingly cared for Rick in his final years and moments.
