Obituary of Richard Sommerfeld
Richard Gordon Sommerfeld passed away at home in Medstead, Saskatchewan, January 3, 2023 at the age of 67 years.
Richard is survived by: his loving wife, Sandra Sommerfeld; five children: son, Brent (Val) Sommerfeld and their son, Ayden; son, Cory (Erin) Sommerfeld and their children, Rue and Theo; daughter, Amber (Casey) Fitzsimmons with baby on the way; daughter, Chelsea (Ackerley) Dunlop and their children, Sage, Nora and Grayson; and son, Steven (Keanna) Bellanger and their daughter, Eleanor; three siblings, Evelyn (Vern) Egeland, Ray (Pauline) Sommerfeld and Bill Sommerfeld; brother-in-law, Ralph (Kim) Burnett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard is predeceased by: his first wife, Aileen Sommerfeld; parents, Helmut and Eleanor Sommerfeld; and sister, Karen Burnett.
The Celebration of Life for Richard will be conducted from Medstead Hall, Medstead, Saskatchewan on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM CST.
Donations in memory of Richard may be made to Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation Inc – Intensive Care Unit.
