With his Family by his side, it is with profound sadness that the Family announces the passing of Richard Paul Laroque at the Wakefield Memorial Hospital on September 25, 2024 just shy of his 75th year.
Rick was the beloved husband and best friend of Suzanne Desormeaux Laroque for over 57 years. Loving Father of Jayson (Low, QC), Jaymie (Laura of Embrun, Ont), Jessica (Benoit of Low, QC) and Jonathan (Christine of Low QC). Special Grandfather to Elly-May (Greg of Bryson, QC), Kaya, Taia, Jayla, Layla, and Rosalie. Adored by Baby Angel the pug and numerous grand pups.
Dear son of the late Thomas Noel Larocque and Mary Marguerite Jay. Dearest brother of Bruce (Lucille of St. Eustache QC), Dale (Ottawa), Lynn (Ottawa) and half-sister Louise (Ottawa) and Brother-in-law to Lynne D, (Hull, QC) Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rick was the proud owner/operator of Chelsea Auto Wreckers for over 16 years. In that time he coached many different sports teams and enjoyed racing around the track. He was a proud Military (Army) Veteran but his most cherished accomplishment was his family. Rick was a much loved and admired Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Brother-in-law and friend to many and will be sorely missed. Our days were just a lot more fun and richer with Rick in them.
A special thanks to the Wakefield Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care given to Rick and to Rick’s family for their 24/7 vigilance during his final journey. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wakefield Memorial Hospital would be gratefully accepted.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Oct 5 from 9:30am until time of service at 10:30am at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Low, Quebec, followed by a reception at the Low Community Centre in Low, Quebec, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. All who knew him are welcome to attend.
