Obituary
Richard Durocher passed away at Edmonton, AB, on January 15, 2024, at the age of 69 years.
Richard was born on February 8, 1954, at Buffalow Narrows, SK, to Jean Babtiste Durocher and Emily Florence Key. He attended St. Phillip’s School and received his grade 8 education.
As a young adult, Richard obtained employment in Alberta. He worked in the pipelines and oil rigs as a drill push. He also attained his 1A licence. Over the years, Richard worked in other industries as well, including construction, concrete, steel and even in mechanics.
Richard enjoyed big game and duck hunting. He also enjoyed singing, playing guitar, public speaking, cooking, and socializing with others. He loved children, was a loving husband and father, and was very respectful towards his elders, especially his grandparents.
Throughout his life, Richard travelled to many places including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and into the United States, as well as Mexico.
He enjoyed life and was always full of jokes and laughter surrounded him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Emily; his brothers, Perry Durocher, Patrick Young, and a twin brother at birth; and by his sisters, Elizabeth Durocher, Rhonda Durocher, and Vyra Durocher.
He is survived by his brothers: Reg Durocher, Vernon Durocher, Lawrence Durocher, and Joseph Durocher; and his sisters: Elaine Durocher, Patricia Derzaph, and Deborah Steinauer; as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, and friends.
A Wake Service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024, and the Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2024, both from the Saulteaux Plex Hall, Key First Nation, SK. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Key First Nation, SK.
