Reinhold Erdmann passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023. Loving husband of Helga. Cherished father of Ingrid (Phil) and Richard (Rita). Adored Opa of Rob, Michael, Stephanie Agar and Eric and Matthew Erdmann. Predeceased by parents Reinhold and Maria (nee Kraus) Erdmann, brother of Arnold and Gerda (nee Glaszeris). Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Reinhold immigrated to Canada in 1954 in his early 20s. Although he dearly missed his home town of Selm, Germany, he soon met the love of his life Helga at Point Pelee National Park. Reinhold and Helga married in 1958 and soon after started a cherished family of their own. This reflected his strong family values. As the years passed, he was blessed with grandchildren which he would tease/terrorize all in fun.
He started his construction company, Manler Construction, in the early 80’s building many custom homes in the Windsor area until his retirement. He was a respected builder and his homes were always crafted to a high standard.
He was a proud member of the Teutonia Club, and of the Saxon Club. These memberships gave him many lifelong friends and grounded him in his German culture.
He was an avid Spitfire fan, where he would rarely miss a game and always discussed the hockey standings. He also enjoy watching soccer. Borussia Dortmund F.C., his home town favorite team from his childhood.
In his final years, he enjoyed doing 2000 piece puzzles, playing cards and became an avid vegetable gardener. Reinhold was very social in his walks in the neighbourhood.
He will be missed by all.
