HEDGE, Raymond ‘Wayne’ – Passed away suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday May 4, 2023 at the age of 82. Beloved father of Rae Ann Hedge, Tim Hedge and cherished grandfather of Caleb ‘Quinton’ Van der Valk (Jess), and Sarah Van der Valk (Brandon). Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Linda Hedge, niece Marcey Hedge (Rich Prentice), nephew Dan (Jennifer) Hedge, great nephew Daxton as well as Victoria Hedge. He is predeceased by his daughter Deb Evans (2019), daughter -in-law Anne Hedge (2023) and brother Jerry Hedge (2017). Wayne, or as he was affectionately referred to as ‘The Moose’, was a great lover of animals as they were to him, and one of his greatest pastimes was to feed the squirrels. Sports was also a very important part of his life, in his early days he played semi pro football and was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wayne was one of the nicest people you would ever meet and would do anything for anyone, he will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday May 11, 2023 from 1 to 3 pm. As an expression of sympathy and a reflection of Wayne’s love of animals, memorial donations to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society would be appreciated.
