Raymond Walter Obituary
Passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound on Monday, December 23, 2024.
Born in St. Vincent Township on Wednesday, October 2, 1935, Howard Raymond Walter of Owen Sound, was in his 90th year.
Ray was the dearly loved husband of the late Margaret Walter (nee Fraser). He will be forever cherished by his daughter, Shelley and son, Shawn. He was a dear Brother of Louise Long and Brother-In-Law to Maxine Scott (nee Fraser); Don Fraser and Harvey Fraser (Terry, nee Armstrong). He is also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and special friend Shirley McInnis. Ray is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Iola Walter (nee Fligg), Father & Mother-In-Law Ken and Elva Fraser (nee Hendry); Brother-In-Laws Bill Long and Bob Scott and Sister-In-Law Cay Fraser (nee Ormsby).
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2 to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Spring interment in Ventry Cemetery, Dundalk.
Special thanks to the caring and compassionate medical and nursing staff in the Emergency Room and on the 6100 unit of Brightshores.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, or Owen Sound Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
