Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Raymond James Legge, of Whiteway, announce his sudden but peaceful passing surrounded by his family at the Carbonear General Hospital, on December 22, 2023, at the age of 84 years.
Predeceased by his parents John & Madeline (George); infant brother Aubrey; brother John; sisters Francis (Fannie) Peach and Rita Lockyer; parents-in-law Robert and Minnie Walker; brothers-in-law Ralph Peach, James Jackson, Ted Chislett, Harry Burt, Gordon Walker, and Bob Walker; sister- in-law Betty Hiscock; and special nephew Barry Peach.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts are his loving and devoted wife, of 49 years (companion of 56 years) Sandra; daughters Danielle (Darren) Mullins and Rae-Ann (Chris) Williams; his two precious “boys”, grandsons, Benjamin and Kallum whom he cherished, adored, and was so proud of; step-daughters and step-great granddaughter Simone and Lily; sisters Valerie Jackson, Vina (Lloyd) Higdon, and Annie Chislett; brothers Albert (Elaine), George (Barb), Freeman (Irene); sisters-in-law Emma Crocker and Alma Burt; brother-in-law Clayton (Jean) Walker; special sister and brother-in-law George and Sylvia Button; special cousins Mac (Linda) Legge, Norma Legge, and. Ina Pynn; special longtime work friend, Keith Sooley; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Raymond was a hard working man at a very young age which kept him away from home most of his younger days, until he became sick.
He made many friends along the way, which he kept until the very end. He always had a joke or story to tell.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at Warrens Funeral Home, Dildo, NL, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, NL, on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
