On Monday November 20, 2023, Ray Nelson Smith, age 94, of Alexandria Ontario (formerly of Milton, Ontario) passed away at Glengarry memorial Hospital in Alexandria, Ontario. Predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn (Hepburn) Smith. Father of Eleanor Smith and her partner Larry Cartwright and Gladys Gordon and her husband Bob. Predeceased by one son Lawrence (Kathy McEwen). Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Ricky Latreille), Tim (Candice) and Katrina (Colin Gurnett). Loved by great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Macey Gordon and Harper Gurnett. Son of the late Hoskin Smith and the late Myrtle Ormiston. Survived by his sister Margaret (Late Donald Prescott) and Kathleen (Late Allyn Taylor). Predeceased by his brother Glenn (Late Jane Woodley).
Family and friends are invited to visit at McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 main St. E., Milton, ON, 905-878-4452, on Sunday November 26, 2023 from 11 am – 1 pm. The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 1 pm. In the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
