Peacefully at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, Raymond Laurence Iles passed away in his 95th year. Loving and devoted husband of the late Jean (Chavner) Iles of 65 years. Dear father of Deborah Iles (Bill Kocak) and Laura (Jim) Davis. Proud and loving grandfather of Melissa Machado, Matthew (Carley) Harlick, Sarah and Andrew Davis. Cherished great grandfather of Nolan and Micaela Machado, Reese and Ainslee Harlick. Predeceased by his siblings,Ron Iles and Betty Robinson. Ray enjoyed life. He loved to laugh and have a scotch with friends and family. Ray was charitable, serving his community through The Sertoma Club, The Boy Scouts, and the Masons. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Gardens for their compassion in caring for Ray. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington Street West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Monday, June 12th, visiting from 1 to 3 pm. A Masonic service under the auspices of Parthenon Lodge #267will be held at 3 pm, with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Deacon Elaine Wilcox officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Parthenon Lodge Benevolent Trust Fund.
