We announce the peaceful passing of Ray Emerson Weaver husband of Mildred (Arbeau) Weaver formerly of Upper Blackville at York Care Centre, Fredericton NB.
Born on January 22, 1926 in Blissfield NB, he was the son of the late Myles and Hazel (Morehouse) Weaver. He worked over 30 years driving truck for Russell & Swim Ltd.
His daily route was to go to Newcastle 3 times a day from Doaktown with his load being wood chips taken to the mill in Newcastle.
Ray is survived by his wife Mildred and his brother Floyd Weaver, his nephew Wilfred Holmes (Irene) and nieces Evelyn Clowater, Sharon (Craig) Gillette and Dawn (Donald) Greer.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant sister Isabel and Minnie Holmes and nephew Orran Holmes Jr.
Ray was a member of the New Zion United Baptist Church.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A Graveside service will be held at Upper Blackville United Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
In his memory, donations to New Zion Baptist Church or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kerr, Pastor Norm McDonald and the staff of York Care Centre Tower 1 for their care they provided and the kindness they showed.
