It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Randy Walters. Randy went throughout brief illness with cancer. Randy is survived by his daughter Jodie and his grandson Liam. He is also survived by his sisters Charmaine Martin Wendy Williams (Bob) and little sister April Harrison and his brothers Aaron MacNeill (Janet), Dale MacNeill, Rudy de Veries (Wendy) and little brother Rafe Walters (Jess).
Randy was born in Williams Lake B.C., at the old Williams Lake Hospital on Nov.8 1953 to Edward and Adrienne Walters. He is predeceased by our grandparents Christine Buchholtz better known as (sis) and Fred Buchholtz and John and Dorothy Rosenau and his ex-wife Donna, stepfather Jim Mac Neill and mother Adrienne Mac Neill and father Edward Walters. Dad and Jim both taught Randy to become a good mechanic and a good body mechanic as well as a good truck driver.
Randy then became a diamond driller along side our stepdad Jim and our brother Aaron. They were involved with many drilling projects that started in the Kamloops area going all the way to the Yukon to Vancouver Island to the USA., and across Canada for many years. Then Randy went to work for the Kamloops School Board as a janitor. He started at Westsyde Elementary, Sahali Junior High and then finally on to Valleyview Junior High where he retired in 2010. The students named him (Guido) because he reminded them of Mario of the Mario Brothers Video Game. And because he looked like an Italian.
Randy loved to tinker by working on old cars he would buy. He was always around to lend a helping hand for some one who was having problems with their car. Randy loved to go fishing to many of the lakes in and around the Kamloops area the Bob. He also went on Various Fishing trips to Quesnel Lake in the Williams Lake area with dad and Rafe and who ever else wanted to go along. He also went on many Deep-Sea Fishing trips with dad and the gang in the Bella Bella & Bella Coola areas. One thing about Randy was you never got a warning when he would show up for a visit. He would just show up. April was telling me of her most precious memories of Randy – She said: Of us playing a lot of Hide n Seek. And sitting by the Lilac Bush on the porch on 5th Ave. And knowing he had named her when she was born. I was there when this happened. Linda came home from the Hospital with a New Addition to our family. Randy asked Linda was it a girl or a boy? So, she told him it was a little girl. So he told her she had to take it right back!!! She asked him why? And he told her, it was not a boy. He wanted a boy so he would have some one to play with. So, Linda made him a deal, that he could name her himself. So, he asked Linda what month it was. And she said April. Then he asked her when she was born. Linda told him at Dawn. So, Randy named her April Dawn. Randy told Linda then April could stay! From that day on: Randy took her outside every day and played with her until she got older. Linda told me that Randy could be a character at times .Randy and Dad would be out in the shop and they would start to banter back and forth at each other Dad would ask Randy to get him a certain tool he needed .Then Randy would ask dad :Do you know how to use that thing??? Dad would just smile and come up with a smart remark of some kind And away they would go again!!!! Leaving Linda in stitches laughing at them and wondering what they were going to say next!
Randy leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well. With the last wordsmith must say for all of us. We all Love him and miss him already.

We are having a Family Get Together when the weather is much nicer as at Randy’s request as he did not want a memorial.
