Randall Norman Mitchell, 53
of Bella Phillip passed away peacefully at his residence with his love
Malyn and his trusted dog Bob by his side. Randy was born February 08,
1971, in Moncton NB, and passed away July 21, 2024. Randall was loving
known as Randy, Crandall and to his Indigenous family he was known as
White Buffalo.
Randy was predeceased by both
his father, Randy Mitchell SR., and his mother Patricia Anne Roberts
(Bryson, Buff), as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, and
his Uncle Steve.
Randy is survived by his
partner Malyn, as well as his six children, Dakota Jack, Dakota
Kingsley, Alberta Pascal, Randy Mitchell JR, Miranda Mitchell, and
Rhea McKinnon, he is also survived by his six grandchildren, Phoenix,
Jacob, Jade, Reign, Sage, and Scarlet as well as his great niece Jade.
Randy also leaves behind his lil sister Stacey and his cherished niece
Chelsey. Randy loved all his children and was a proud father. Randy
leaves behind several aunts and uncles and cousins on both his
paternal and maternal side that love him and will miss him dearly.
Randy was particularly close to his cousin Heidi with whom he shared a
special bond.
At the age of 5 Randy moved
out west to Alberta with his Aunt Donna and Uncle Steve who raised him
for much of his life. In 1993 Randy’s travels brought him to
Mount Currie and the Lil’wat nation, where he fell in love
with the land and the people and made it his home. Randy was a
modern-day Grizzly Adams who lived off the land, he lived a simple
life and found peace when he was in the bush or hunting and fishing.
While Randy lived on the Lil’wat Nation, he immersed himself
in the culture and, with the help of his good friend Farmer, Linda Dan
and Ferg, Randy taught himself to speak the native language, and we
have been told, he did so better than some of the
locals.
Randy was a dedicated
painter, both residentially and commercially, Randy put his heart and
soul into his career.
Randy recently returned to
New Brunswick where here found happiness with his love Malyn, and her
large family as well as reconnected with his paternal family. Randy
was proud of the life he was building for his
children.
Randy was a kind soul who was
renowned for his generosity and was always the first one to help those
in need. He made this world a better place and he will be
loving missed by all who knew
him.
There will be no visitation
or funeral service. A private ceremony will be held In
Vernon BC, on August 02nd, in addition a celebration of
Randy’s life will happen both in NB and on the
Lil’Wat nation at a later
date.
