It is with broken hearts that the family of Ralph Francis Ryan, of Southern Harbour, NL, formerly of St. Joseph’s, Placentia Bay, announce his passing at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the age of 65.
Ralph was predeceased by his loving parents Robert & Margaret Ryan, Father and Mother in-law Maurice & Margaret Best, sister in-law Matilda Ryan, brothers in-law George Best, Rick Best and Gerry Riggs, his best friend Terry Parsons and his two nephews Corey Pirotta and Samuel Clements.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories to cherish forever, his wife Linda Ryan of 45 years, his three children who loved their Dad dearly, son Justin (Melissa) and their three beautiful girls Victoria, Abigail and Lily, daughter Cherise (Stevie) step-sons Marco and Marcus, son Paul (Melissa) and their two gorgeous girls Ava and Layla. Brothers and sisters Maurice (Alice), Patrick, Mike (Judy), Robert (Marilyn), Clara (David), brother and best friend Norman (Mary), Arthur (Donna), Rita (Ed), Blanche, plus his brothers and sisters in-laws Joan (Bill), Leo (Cindy, his singing and playing buddy), Rubert (Helen), Gord (Wendy), Carolann (Shawn), Randy (Pam), Teresa, and his nephew Maurice Best aka Johnny whom he thought of an his own, plus a large circle of extended family and friends, too many to list but none the less never forgotten.
Ralph loved his family dearly. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. If he didn’t receive a call from Justin, Cherise and Paul (he always did), he was sure to say “Linda, did you hear from anyone yet today?” He wanted to make sure everyone was doing well. He was always so proud of them, and he made that known throughout his life. He started his career as a fisherman and later became a pipefitter as well, both giving him so much joy and the ability to provide for his family. Those who worked with him knew him for his hard work and big laugh. He was always up for a joke, especially when it came to the good ol’ hockey game (when the leaf’s lost), he was sure to ask Linda how to post the scores on facebook the next morning. His big smile, his laugh and his little wave will be missed the most, but the stories and jokes will last his family and friends a lifetime. His hard work, determination, and legacy that he leaves behind will never be forgotten. The family would like to give a very special thank you to his family doctor Jacqie Elliott and the nurses and doctors who cared for him at Eastern Health.
