Rafael Corcione of New Westminster, BC, passed away Wednesday, March 15,2023 at Royal Columbian Hospital. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren, family & many friends.
Rafael was born in Naples, Italy, to a loving family including 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Through determination &, hard work he immigrated to Canada in 1958 (?) with his family.
He began his Canadian journey working in a mine in Northern Ontario then West to Manitoba and eventually settling in Vancouver where he spent most of his life. Rafael settled in the community of Kerrisdale where he owned and operated a successful hair salon and raised his family.
Rafael had many hobbies, but his true joy was spending time at his property on Salt Spring Island where he kept himself busy in his garden, growing his trees, going clamming and enjoying the many deer that wandered throughout his property.
Rafael was a force with an easy charm, and a true maverick who lived life on his terms; he will be so greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services to be held at St Peters church New West., BC – with date yet to be confirmed.
