December 4, 1970 – December 27, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rachelle Roy (nee Rioux) of Noelville. She was only 52 years old.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 22 years, Gilbert Roy, her father Gilbert Rioux (mother Mary, predeceased) of Lavigne, sister Diane Rioux (Alain Betty) of Verner, brothers Dan of Azilda and Jean-Paul (Isabel) of Montreal, her niece Emma and nephew Xavier of Montreal, her in-laws, Hector and Rose Roy of Sudbury, sister-in-law Josée Leon (Adrian) of Brampton, her nephew Félix and niece Jasmine of Brampton, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta, British Columbia and Thailand.
Rachelle was born in Sarnia and grew up in Chelmsford. She was a graduate of Ecole Secondaire Catholique l’Héritage and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Laurentian University where she also attended Teachers College. Rachelle was a primary school teacher at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School in Coniston.
Like her mother, Rachelle was a kindhearted and selfless individual, always helping others and putting others ahead of herself. She was generous and active in her parish and in her community. She loved her position as a teacher, her friends and colleagues, her students. She enjoyed the outdoors and believed strongly in protecting the environment. Rachelle was loved dearly by her family, her friends and by all who knew her. We will forever mourn her loss.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Paroisse St. David Parish church in Noelville, Ontario, with mass of Christian burial to follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, in memory of Rachelle, donations to Paroisse St. David Parish in Noelville, for the specific purpose of repairs, maintenance and utilities of the church, would be greatly appreciated. Rachelle would have approved.

My most sincere condolences to the family. Rachelle was a dear friend and colleague. We worked together over 15 years at St.Paul school. She was a dedicated French immersion teacher and had a great sense of humour…she made us laugh everyday! Tu vas me manquer grandement ma chère Rachelle! xo

My sincere condolences to Rachelle’s family. I worked with Rachelle for a few months but she was very kind and patient with me as I learnt my ropes around the school. She was a great mentor and I even considered her a friend. May your sweet soul rest in eternal peace Rachelle. You will be greatly missed.
