Robert John Jarvis
November 23, 1934 – November 20, 2023
John was the youngest of eight children born to Charles and Ida Jarvis. He was predeceased by sisters Marjory (Macdonald), Helen (Shaw), Charlene (Jarvis), and Edythe (Corman) and by brothers Archie, Herald, and James Jarvis. He lived on the Jarvis farm near Milton, while working for the Bell Telephone Company before getting the urge to travel west. He immediately gained employment with the Alberta Telephone Company and made Strathmore Alberta his home until he retired. He returned to Ontario, first to Peterborough and then to Milton to take care of his brothers, Archie and James Jarvis until their passing.
John excelled in playing fastball, playing in many different leagues and matched his love to travel with his interest in fastball by attending many high caliber tournaments in Canada and the U.S.
John always had a keen mind and kept in contact with his many friends and acquaintances along the way.
He will be sadly missed by his 13 nieces and nephews and was a great and loving uncle and a great great uncle to those closest to him.
Resting at McKersie and Early Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends on Sunday November 26th from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Monday November 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Milton Evergreen Cemetery.
