Born Oct. 30, 1932 on the family farm at McNab, Alberta, Jean attended Warner School. In 1951, she married Victor Pittman. There, Jean and Victor farmed and ranched for 55 years and raised ten children.
Jean was an active member of the Warner community, including the Catholic Women’s League, the Library Board, Senior’s Centre, Warner Historical Society and as a 4-H parent. While her interests in community were great, her passion was for creating a loving and organized home, farm and family. She was a great baker of pies, breads, buns, fudge and cakes. An avid homemaker, seamstress and quilter, Jean was also a self-taught pianist; she loved to play, teach and listen to music. She supported family gatherings almost every weekend with meals and parties. Jean was also a voracious reader, preferring autobiographies and non-fiction.
Mom was strong, capable, loving, funny, supportive, non-judgmental and her faith in God was solid and inspiring. Her kindness, generosity and selflessness will always be cherished.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to the most wonderful staff members at The Prairie Rose Lodge in Milk River and at Park Meadows Good Samaritans Village in Lethbridge. We appreciate each one of you greatly. Your care was noted and appreciated each day!
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 Main Street NW, Milk River, AB, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Andrew Pyon celebrating.
A private Family Graveside will be held in the Warner Cemetery, where Jean will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Victor.
