After a courageous battle with Cancer, in his 87th year, we sadly announce the passing of Pietro Bonitatibus on March 13th, 2023. Beloved and wonderful husband of over 63 years to Agata (nee Cellini). Proud father of Ascenzo (Rita), Paolo (Teresa) and Stefan (Rebecca). Cherished and much loved Nonno to Amanda, Matthew, Joshua, Sophia and Gabriella. Predeceased by parents Angela and Ascenzo Bonitatibus, and mother and father-in-law, Filomena and Giovanni Cellini. Dear brother of the late Margherita and the late Concezio Crugnale, Carmella and the late Dumitru Hrincu, the late Pia and the late Felice Sciullo, Irma and the late Antonio DiSimoni, and Lorraine and the late Roberto Bonitatibus. Cherished brother-in-law of the late Cesidio Cellini, the late Giulio and the late Margherita Cellini, Maria and the late Ugo Pagani, the late Rosa and the late Micheli Viselli, Carmine and the late Filomena Cellini, and Rita and the late Eric Pfenninger.
He was a special and lifelong friend to Cesidio Ferreli, John Monaco and Elena Trombetta. He will be sadly missed by all of his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and the USA.
Pietro’s love for life made him a pillar of strength for all his family and friends. Born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, and immigrating to Canada, he was a carpenter by trade and a home builder, and always put family and friends first. His kindness and generosity were second to none and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. He had a passion for making the best polenta and sharing it with all his family and friends.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude for all the exceptional care and support provided by the homecare nurses, PSWs, and doctors throughout the last several years. And special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassion and care.
Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – «William J. Markey Chapel», 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday March 16, 2023, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church (Corpus Christi Site), on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.
