In Loving Memory of Phyllis Joan Lemaire (Wanamaker)
Phyllis passed away in the presence of family on September 24, 2023, in Peace River, Alberta. She was born on January 30, 1951, in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Ron and their devoted children: Darren (Cynthia), Brad, Richard (Aaron), Renee, Ryan (Tina), and her cherished grandchildren: Jaiden, Reid, Jillian, Jackson, Avery, Madison and Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Fred and Barbara, and her father-in-law, Leo.
Phyllis and her sisters grew up in Creighton, Saskatchewan, and attended Hapnot High before moving to The Pas, Manitoba to further her education at Keewatin College and began her career there, as a secretary at Keewatin College, Manitoba New Start and St. Anthony’s Hospital. This is where she met and Married Ron in May of 1973 then started their family, with two sons.
The family eventually settled in Martensville, Saskatchewan, where they had three more children. Their home was full of life and their door always open to friends who became family. Phyllis contributed to her community by working at local grocery and convenience stores, becoming known to many residents of the town. She finally retired to an acreage along the Peace River in Alberta and once again, established deep life-long friendships.
A proud sports Mom and Grandmother, Phyllis passionately supported her family in various athletic pursuits, from hockey, baseball, figure skating and horseback riding to volleyball and basketball. If asked about her proudest accomplishments, Phyllis would say it was her children. Her love for each of them was boundless and unconditional.
Phyllis will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her but are comforted knowing she is in the arms of her parents. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In keeping with her wishes, a memorial service will not be held at this time.
