SCOTT, Peter Michael – Peter passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on October 8th, 2024 at age 83. The beloved husband to Hazel (nee Shuttler). Loving father to Tracey (Bob), Lorrie (Ken), Michael, Larry, Chris, Dale (Deanna). Cherished grandfather to Tom (Ashleigh), Breanna (Jake), Cynthia (Erik), Victoria (Jordan), Amelia (Brendan), Nicholas (Marissa), Josh, Xavier, Cheyanne, and Madison. A loving great-grandfather to Daimon, Lexis, Bradley, Wyatt, Emily, Lucas, Max, Matilda, Robbie, Clara and Charlie. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Scott and France Scott (nee Darte) his step mother Marilynn Scott, his sister Helen Scott and brother John Scott (Sue). Dearly missed by his siblings, Anne Couturier (Jean Claude), Tom Scott (Joyce), Kathie Scott, George Scott (Jennifer), Jay Scott, Mary Beth Andrews (Chris), David Scott (Kathy) and Karin Scott along with family and friends from far and wide. For many years Peter taught English and history at Mount Senior Clancy and Notre Dame High schools and will be missed by his many students over the years. Welland Rotary was his second family. He will be greatly missed by the many friends he made being a member over the years. Peter fought a long and courageous battle over the past two years with many health issues. He will always be remembered as an avid fighter for his great love of life. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, October 15th from 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated in the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara St. Welland on Wednesday October 16th, 2024 at 12:30 p.m.. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Peter’s wife Hazel would ask that you consider a donation to the Rotary Club of Welland in Peter’s name.
