La Plante, Peter
Passed away peacefully at Wiarton Hospital on July 31, 2023. Born in Orillia on March 31, 1948. Peter William La Plante of Wiarton was in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of Betty (nee Cameron) for 54 years. Loving father to Richard of Wiarton and Paul of Owen Sound. Cherished Grandpa of Drake (Rebecca) of Edmonton, Alberta. Peter’s pride of life was his great grand-daughter Annika. Dear brother of Tim (Sandi) of Ottawa and Ann of Toronto. Peter will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Raphael & Margaret, his brothers David and Michael, and sister Jane Johnstone.
Peter had a deep passion for coaching baseball and hockey, positively impacting the lives of numerous young athletes throughout his community. His dedication to nurturing talent and fostering sportsmanship will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. Additionally, he found solace in his love for fishing during his spare time, often casting his line into tranquil waters, appreciating the beauty of nature.
