We sadly announce the passing of Peter John Patterson on May 4, 2024. He was the devoted son of John (Pat) and Marion (Peggy) Patterson deceased. Survived by his sister Penny Matwychuk (Gerald). Peter was also the proud uncle of Paul (Tiiu) Matwychuk of Edmonton AB and Kate (Chris) Matwychuk of Anacortes WA. Peter was retired from the HWDSB where he taught English and history at Hill Park SS and Sir Winston Churchill SS. As an English teacher, he would often lament over a grammatically incorrect headline. “Did you see where they put that apostrophe?”
Peter also got great pleasure from coaching basketball at both schools. He often said these were the happiest times of his life. A lover of the outdoors, Peter spent many summers at his cottage on Ahmic Lake, Magnetawan ON. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and relished hearing the call of a loon or the baying of a hound.
Peter was a very private person and in accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service; however, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
