Peter leaves behind a loving family including his wife Sheila, and their children, Michael, Kathy (John), Elizabeth, and Rob (Loretta) and grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Dylan , Sarah, Jack, Josh, Katie and Stephanie.
He was the 2nd of 6 children and grew up in Ottawa where he was known across the city as the best miler in town. He went on to a university degree at. St. Pat’s College in Ottawa (he would later complete degrees at Queens and St. Paul’s). He was an early entrant in the IT field in1965. Two years later Peter married Sheila and moved north to Yellowknife six years later with three preschoolers in tow. He created a life filled with family, faith and nature. After many years working for the government of the NWT, he undertook «the most wonderful job he ever had» working for the Diocese of Mackenzie.
In 2002, he and Shelia took any early retirement and headed to their acreage in the Cariboo where they spent the next 18 years doing the things he loved, working with the land, creating trails, and finding beauty in nature. Retirement phase 2 brought him to Squamish where he continued to love his family, serve his community and find beauty in all life around him.
While Peter has passed on to wait for us, he has left a lasting legacy of family, faith, dedication and love.
