Peter Duncan Glassford of New Liskeard Ontario passed away suddenly at North Bay Regional Health Center on Saturday June 15, 2024 at the age of 69.
Peter was born at the New Liskeard Hospital on December 25, 1954.
Peter is survived by sister in-law Jean (Ashworth) Glassford, sister Elsie Baker, brother Bill and his wife Elaine (Brown), brother Bob Glassford and his wife Linda (MacLaren) and his sister Lucy Robertson.
He was predeceased by his parents William Glassford Sr. and Elizabeth (Liz-Bertrand) Glassford, his brother Ronald Sr., brother in-law Gerald Baker, sister Mary and her husband Carl Burk, brother in-law Randy Robertson and nephew Stephen Baker.
Peter was dearly loved by three generations of nieces and nephews.
Peter loved doing puzzles, making maple syrup, boating, relaxing at the cottage, and spending time working on the farm. Over the years he thoroughly enjoyed third Sundays when the whole family would attempt to get together, where tales were told, singalongs happened and music abounded.
Peter attended Scarborough College obtaining his mechanics small engine diploma. He worked for Ontario Hydro (Hydro One) with the Forestry section until retirement. He made many friends through his co-workers and family friends.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Stacy Desilets, his family doctor for her excellent care over the years. Also, a thank you to the staff of the ER department at Temiskaming Hospital, and to the staff in the OR, CCU, and Unit A3 at the North Bay Regional Health Center.
There is no funeral service planned at this time.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
