1938-2023
Father Alyre Cormier, 84, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the
UHC Dr Georges-L. Dumont, Moncton on Monday January 16, 2023. Born in
Saint-Paul, he was the son of the late Yvon and the late Eugénie
(Richard) Cormier.
Alyre had two principal careers during the course of his life; he was
a school teacher in Rexton for approximately 17 years, after which he
was ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest in Saint-Paul on June 25,
1992.
He will be sadly missed by his three sisters; Florence Comeau (late
Delphis), Rhéa Girouard (Gerard) of Leominster, MA, Yvonne
Cormier of Bouctouche and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one sister, Alvina.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Paul-de-Kent Roman Catholic
Church on Friday January 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm. A funeral
Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Paul-de-Kent Church on Friday
January 20, 2023 at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in
the spring.
In Father Alyre’s memory, donations may be made to the
Saint-Paul-de-Kent Parish.
