It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, Percy Beaudette. He was surrounded by his cherished family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and dedication.
Percy was a gentle soul who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity. His devotion to family was unparalleled, and he took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their accomplishments are a testament to the love and guidance he provided throughout his life.
A fortunate man, Percy was blessed with a forty five year marriage to Marie Maloney. Marie passed away in 2001. In 2004, Percy remarried Lucette Remillard and they enjoyed 19 happy years together.
He leaves behind his children, Bill Beaudette (Eileen), Rick Beaudette, Nancy Beaudette (Christine), Jim Beaudette (Sherry), and Sue Billard (Rob); and his grandchildren, Sean, Adam, Katie, Samantha, Justin, Ben, Emma, Patrick, Korbin and Karley, as well as 10 great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his parents William Beaudette and Janet Leroux; his siblings Ellerene, Lillian, Alfred and Lawrence; and his first spouse Marie Maloney.
Percy was a teacher, principal, and superintendent of Catholic education in DD&G. He instilled values of compassion, integrity, and faith, influencing the lives of many in our community.
Percy will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering love and kindness. His legacy lives on through the generations he nurtured and the lives he touched.
Percy was blessed with wonderful supports at home. A thank you to all his carers, with special appreciation to Mark Cerbo who played an extraordinary role in allowing Percy to remain at home while he aged.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Carefor. The family is grateful for their kindness and compassion.
Friends are invited to a visitation at Wilson Funeral Home (822 Pitt St. Cornwall, ON) on Tuesday September 26, 2023 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Wednesday September 27, 2023 from 9:00am to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Friends, family, and those whose lives were enriched by his presence are invited to join in honoring his memory.
As we bid farewell to Percy let us remember the love and light he brought into our lives. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to guide us in our journey through life.
