Bourgeois, Pauline (Lessard) 1945-2024
In loving memory of our beautiful mother, Pauline Bourgeois, who passed away Sunday March 17, 2024 in Sudbury, at the age of 78 years. Daughter of the late Lorenzo Lessard and of the late Madeleine Lacoursière (the late Paul Michel and the late Wilfrid Mousseau). Wife of the late Gérard Bourgeois.
Pauline was very proud of her children Gilles (Nancy), Rosanne (Paul) and the late Lucie Beaulieu (Bernie). She will be remembered and cherished always by her grandchildren Skyler, Stéphanie, Alain, Noah, Megan, and Ashley. Her great grandchildren Conan, Axel and Finley will forever hear the stories of her unconditional love and the special Memère she was. Pauline is survived by her brother Emile Michel (Nicole) and predeceased by her siblings Pierrette Bellemare (late Rhéal), Denis (late Thérèse), Hélène Rainville (late Roger), Jean Paul (Keren) and Fernand Michel. She was a bonus Mom to many special nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her special friend Dianne Hull who she lovingly referred to as her adopted sister.
Born and raised in the northern community of Val Gagné, Pauline worked in her family home in Dowling then Cartier raising her children and later worked as a cook/waitress. She returned to Dowling and made her home in Gorham’s Court for over 20 years.
Her favourite thing was being surrounded by family and friends and her face lit up every time someone went to visit. She had a way of making everyone feel special. She was confidant and counsellor to many. Her sense of humour was appreciated by everyone, even those who followed her family on Facebook. Her butter tarts were somewhat famous, and she was an excellent cook. She loved old French and English classic country music, especially the ones that got her toes tapping with some fiddle and accordion. Over the years, many puzzles were made and many Yahtzee and bingo games were played. We can’t leave out the cleaning side of her as many said they could eat off her floors. Despite her journey with COPD over the years and the difficult loss of many loved ones, she always had a smile on her face and remained positive. She continually defied medical odds and fought through many tough times. She was definitely Superwoman. She was a great roll model and inspiration for all. Her loss will leave a void in the lives of all who were lucky to love her and be loved by her.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
