It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Wellington Swanson at the age of 89, on March 16, 2024. For 65 years, Paul was the beloved Husband of our late Mother, Helen. Father of Alan (Cathy Jo), Marilyn (Gary) Lugmayr and Cheryl (Steve) Little. Dear brother to Virginia Taylor (Jim) and sister-in-law to Ann Christie. Predeceased by brothers Ernest, Ralph, Cecil, sister Gloria Avey and brother-in-law Bill Christie. Paul’s grandchildren and great-children were the light of his life, all of whom he adored. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Craig (Kara) Swanson and Scott Swanson (Lanna), Nick Lugmayr (Kate) and Jaclyn (Travis) Naylor (nee Lugmayr), and Doug (Hillary) Little, Mike Little (Grace), Jon Little (Alyssa) and Russ Little (Jennae). Paul was blessed with great-grandchildren Kaysen, Colten and Kobe Naylor, Jackson Swanson and Louise Little.
Paul was born in Brantford on June 29, 1934. He began his working career with Williams Supply followed by Abex Industries in Brantford as Personnel Manager and Comptroller where during his 29 years he was transferred to Athens, OH and then to Lindsay where following the closure of Abex he worked with Lindsay Cleaners before retiring in 1997.
Paul loved camping, golfing, curling as well as playing cribbage and euchre. He volunteered as an elder at Greenbrier Presbyterian Church in Brantford followed by St. Andrews in Lindsay.
Central to the lives of our parents, Helen and Paul, we would like to thank St. Andrews congregation, members both current and past, for being such a valuable part of their lives.
Visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26th 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, March 27th beginning at 11:00am. Following the service and reception, interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery for immediate family. If you wish, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. Donations and condolences may be made through Mackey Funeral Home via cheque or online at www.mackeys.ca
