Obituary
Paul passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Born on June 3, 1943, in Owen Sound, Paul Vincent Ireland was in his 80th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara Ireland (née Schneider) for 51 years. Loving father of Wayne Ireland (Brenda) of Clinton, Bruce Ireland (Patricia) of Kitchener, Todd Ireland (Beth) of Kitchener, Sean Ireland (Melissa) of Kitchener and step-father of Robert Madill (Adria) of Barrie. Proud grandad of Kelli (Collin), Kaitlyn, Sarah, Emily, Lucas, Logan, Ethan, Hailey, Julia, Aidan, Ashton, Amelia, Kieran and Rhiannon. Loving brother of Robert Ireland (Joan) of Corunna and Cheryl Kip (John) of Kitchener. Paul will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many friends, as well as his cuddly cat Charlie.
Predeceased by his parents William and Evelyn Ireland, nephews Tyler Kip and Timothy Ireland, his parents-in-law Gordon and Violet Schneider and by his brother-in-law Ron Mitchell.
Memorial visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. with a memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life at 3 p.m. A reception will follow and spring interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Dr. Newton and the nursing staff on Unit 6-1 at GBHS, and to Dr. Sandhu and all the caring nurses in the Oncology department at GBHS who treated Paul with care and compassion over the past eight and a half years.
