Obituary
Passed peacefully away on October 13, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving wife and family, Patrick Walsh, age 63 years.
Predeceased by his precious daughter, Kristina (May, 2000); parents, Adrian and Mary Walsh; sister, Carol Ann Quann; and father-in-law, Steve Greene.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories the love of his life and best friend of 38 years, Joan (nee Greene); his treasured sons: Nicholas (Holly), Liam (Jennee) and daughter, Rebecca (Manny) whom he adored; his beautiful grandchildren: Lydia, Riley and Jordynn; and very special K-9 companion Jake; siblings: Tom (Teresa, deceased), Diane Coffin (Tom), Chris (Marlene), Danny (Judy), Brian (Michele), Kevin (Mary), Jackie Walsh, Raymond (Tina); his mother-in-law, Betty Greene, whom he loved; Joan’s siblings: Sharmaine (John), Carol (Greg), Ken (Donna), and Barry (Christine); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends, including his large circle of friends and colleagues whom he met along the way in his 30 years of teaching.
Pat’s humour and warm personality made people gravitate towards him. He made a memorable impression on those fortunate enough to have known him.
Pat was an avid traveler. Even through the last ten years of battling stage four cancer, he never missed an opportunity to explore a new country and enjoy the sunshine. His positivity was an inspiration for all who knew him. Family was the most important thing to Pat. His children were his entire world and his love for his wife was evident to everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him but will remain forever in our hearts.
Special thank you to Dr. Sheilagh McGrath, the Palliative Care Team and Community Health Services for their exceptional care and support throughout Pat’s journey. We will be forever grateful.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on Tuesday, October 15, from 12noon-9pm. Funeral mass will take place from Our Lady Queen of Families Church (formerly St. Peter’s), Mount Pearl, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 1:30pm with a reception to follow in the Parish Centre downstairs. A private family inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Thursday, October 17.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Program or Make-A-Wish Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter.

Heartfelt condolences to each and every one. It saddened me to learn of Pat’s passing. I realize how valiantly he battled over the past several years. He was an inspiration to many.
I had the pleasure of teaching with Pat many years ago. His sense of humour, his pleasant disposition, and his dedication to his students were admirable.
May his love for you all bring you peace and your many memories bring a smile to your face.
May he Rest In Eternal Peace. Fly high with the angels, Pat. You have earned your wings.
