March 10, 1935 – January 18, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we mark the end of a generation. Our father and the patriarch of our family passed away suddenly surrounded by love at the Health Sciences Centre.
Left to mourn a life that was so very full of grand schemes and adventures his daughters Marjory (Wayne) Green, Corrinne (Roger) Reid, Mary Weymouth and sons Patrick and Bill (Linda). Beloved grandchildren whom he was so infinitely proud Jay (Jenna) Green, Megan (Ray Hodder), Ryan (Megan) Reid, Kelsey Reid, Nicholas, Jacob (Briar) & Daniel Weymouth, Billy, Stephen & Leanne Miller. His treasured great grand children, Amy & Drew Hodder, Noah Reid & James Green.
He was predeceased by our mother & his wife and life partner Gertie Miller (December 24, 2019).
Our father was the last of a clan of Miller’s that have left an indelible mark in this world. A large circle of extended family had the joy of knowing our Dad and experiencing his quick wit. His neighbours and the staff at Tiffany Village Retirement Residence got a small glimpse into the life of an incredible man.
Our Dad was an honourable man. He had a work ethic second to none, an entrepreneurial spirt that was fearless and a gift of being able to fix pretty much anything. He was a “put an ass in a cat” kind of guy. He was humble, strong in his convictions, so we knew which topics to race head on into and which ones to definitely avoid. Our Dad loved to travel and lamented about their adventures right to the end. He was a family man who was so proud of everything we accomplished. He found great joy in watching those he loved succeed. He did the hockey games, the track meets, the dance recitals, the concerts and all the things that having grandkids & great grandchildren brought. He was the kind of man that we would want our boys to emulate. He faced all of life’s challenges with a grit & determination and had more willpower than most superhero’s.
We will honour our dad at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Mundy Pond Road on Thursday January 25 at 1 p.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the home of Marjory & Wayne Green, 7 Ned’s Place, Torbay.
Donations in his honour can be made to the Gathering Place, 172 Military Road, St. John’s.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road.
