It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick Butt, Port Union announce his peaceful passing at the age of 89 with his family by his side on July 1, 2023, at Shirley’s Haven, Catalina.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Edith and sons Reg (Christine) and Eric.
Left to mourn with loving memories are his children: Gerald (Karen), Ambrose (Betty), Eileen Cole (Pete), Shirley Stead (Terry), Aiden (Joyce), Karen O’Keefe (Lowell), Debbie Morris (George), Denise Power (Tom) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Shirley’s Haven who went above and beyond for making our dad’s stay so comfortable.
Dad was born in Island Harbour, Fogo Island and later moved his family to Port Union where he lived for the last 56 years. Dad was a hard worker and a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was an outdoors person who loved to fish and moose hunt with his sons and sons-in-law. He worked for many years as a carpenter and would spend his spare time helping family and friends in any way he could.
Gone to join his soul mate in life, our mother.
