With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Roberts, on December 13th, 2023, at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, BC. Pat passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
At the age of 96 ½ years, Pat lived a rich and vibrant life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She possessed a remarkable ability to forge deep connections wherever she roamed. Pat took great pride in her family, and was a dedicated and distinguished member of the Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. Additionally, she served her community as a well loved Safeway employee for 25 years. Pat’s adventurous spirit led her to excel as a skilled target shooter at the local range, a pursuit that afforded her the opportunity to explore numerous countries alongside her beloved partner, Paul.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will endure through the generations. She is survived by her devoted eldest son, Brian, and his wife Joyce, as well as her adored granddaughters, Jenna and Emily. Her memory will also be remembered by her youngest son, Gordy, her brother Sid, and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply touched by her laughter and wisdom.
Pat was preceded by her devoted husband, Ray, in 1984, her cherished middle son, Bruce, in 1980, and her adored grandson, Luke, in 1986. She is now reunited with her brother Roy, as well as her parents, William and Ellen Sargent.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Ponderosa Lodge, especially the Recreation Team, for their unwavering care during Pat’s final years. They also wish to express appreciation to Judy Day, John and Crystal Reiben, Helen Turner, and Lynette Harrison Kies for their support and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Fund or a local women’s shelter are suggested to honor Pat’s memory. A celebration of Pat’s remarkable life will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, coinciding with her 97th birthday. Further details regarding the service will be provided closer to the date.
