It is with heavy hearts the family of Patricia “Patti” Cornelius (nee Niles) announce her unexpected passing at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Friday, February 2, 2024 at the age of 81. She leaves behind her beloved husband Arnold of 43 years. In 1980 Patti and Arnold married and combined their family to become one unit. She is going to be deeply missed by her children Jeff (Kat) Spinks, Tiffany (Claude) Courcelles, Ashley (Andrea) Cornelius, David (Kim) Spinks and Derek (Lisa) Spinks. She is the loved Nana to her many grandchildren and was a very proud and involved Grandma/Nana to her many great grandchildren. Patti is going to be missed by her brother Phil (Brenda) Niles. She was predeceased by her parents Eric and Marjory Niles, her brother Jimmy and sister Catherine and her beautiful daughter Sara. Patti was a proud and dedicated nurse at the Cobourg Hospital where she spent her career with the maternity ward. She quietly and humbly helped bring many in the Cobourg Community to Earths side. She loved her family passionately, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together her and Arnold enjoyed a wonderful marriage of travel, dedication to their careers as well as spending time with their family. Patti is going to be deeply missed, never forgotten and always loved by her extended family, friends and the community she proudly served. A celebration of life in memory to this extraordinary woman will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at MacCoubrey Funeral Home – Reception Lounge 30 King Street East, Cobourg, ON from 1:00 – 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
