Obituary For Patricia Gail Trottier
Patti Trottier, passed away suddenly from natural causes on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at home in Grande Prairie, at the age of 67 years. Patricia Gail Trottier was born on July 8, 1956, in Dawson Creek, BC.
Patti grew up in Grande Prairie where she participated in numerous clubs and had many interests. These included junior choir, Sunday school, Explorers, and Canadian Girls in Training. She directed the junior choir at St. Paul’s United church when she was 16. In 1975, Patti moved to New Zealand to spend time with her relatives and worked sorting apples and working in a wool factory. Patti moved back to Grande Prairie where she met a young man and followed him to Yellowknife, NWT. They lived in various places before settling again in Grande Prairie and set roots and grew a family.
Patti was hardworking, determined, kind, and generous to a fault. She had a heart of gold. Her grandkids were her life. She had many hobbies. She enjoyed needlepoint and crafts, music, and traveling. She visited places along the way such as St. Lucia, Jasper skiing trips with her kids, and traveling around the Caribbean. She liked to press the flowers she picked on the side of the road in countless books she had, as she loved to read as well. Patti was a diehard sports fan and loved watching sports, both professional and more importantly her grandkids. She chased them all over the Peace Country, supporting their sports, and passions. Often times enduring the cold arenas. She was a baking phenomenon. She baked, excessively, which was a detriment to the waist bands of her loved ones. She was guaranteed to remember everyone’s favourite baked goods and her baking assembly line was a sight to see. Everyone who made it onto her baking list will surely never forget her talent. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved regardless of relationship.
Patti will be sadly missed by her mother Nora; children Rob (Amy), Alison, and Jaclyn (Ryan); grandchildren: Jacob, Sophya, Jaxxon, Nixxon, Ben, Delainee, Samuel, Ellanore, Kaden, and Kiarra; siblings: Robert, Lisa, and Gary (Cathe); nephew Ryan (Carly); great-niece and nephew Ian and Isla; ex husband Alan (Puky); as well as numerour aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends in Canada and New Zealand.
Patti was predeceased by her fathers Robert Trottier, and Ian Hassall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul’s United Church in Grande Prairie (10206 100 Ave.).
