Patricia (Pat) Anne Pilon (Nash) of Stratford, and formerly of Listowel and Collingwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Rotary Hospice in Stratford. She died in her 76th year surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness due to breast cancer.
Caring Wife of Robert (Bob) Pilon, married 54 years.
Loving Mother of Jenn & Jeff O’Grady of Listowel, Aaron Pilon of Collingwood, Kara & Dave Meulensteen of Gowanstown, and Breanna & Tania Wilson of Stratford.
Proud Nana of Sarah (Brandon), Nick (Nichole), Emma, Harrison, Henry, Luka, August and Blair.
Overjoyed Great-Nana of new baby girl Eva Wren.
Caring sister of Maureen & Tom Thibideau, Judy & Dave Messervey, Kathy Vens, Grant & Lynda Nash, and Valerie & Mike Foster.
Predeceased by her parents Gordon (2009) & Phyllis (Grant) Nash (2015) and an infant brother Richard David (1963).
Pet-lover of many cats and dogs and also her grand-pets.
Pat was born and raised in Toronto before moving to Wallaceburg in her teenage years. She spent most of her young adult life living in the Erieau and Blenheim area with an adventure living out west in Los Angeles, California and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Pat is described as caring, loyal and feisty. Pat didn’t mince words and she stood up for what she believed in. She loved and supported her family and friends fiercely.
Pat was beautiful inside and out. She had a gorgeous smile and a beautiful head of hair. Pat was the biggest and loudest cheerleader for her children and grandchildren in life and at various sports and dance events. Pat was always there to answer cooking how- to questions, provide guidance or to listen in times of need and to support and build you up when things got tough. Her love was unconditional.
Pat loved to cook. She enjoyed collecting cook books and preparing delicious meals for family and friends. Pat never passed up a nice glass of wine. Over the years she also enjoyed playing golf, curling, knitting, reading, sewing and travel. In her early life she was an avid hockey player in Toronto and played with the renowned Abby Hoffman.
Her strong work ethic and focus on providing exceptional customer service made for a rewarding and successful career with the Southwestern Regional Centre in Cedar Springs, Brown’s IDA Pharmacy and Tim Haines Chev Olds Cadillac in Listowel. Pat was selfless and giving of her time, volunteering most recently with the Stratford General Hospital. Pat’s superpower was ensuring folks felt comfortable and taken care of.
Pat volunteered with the Listowel School of Dance as President and was an integral part of the dance school’s creation. She spent countless hours sewing costumes and helping with the day-to-day operations of the school.
She made many friends through her leisure activities, career and volunteering and cherished these relationships deeply.
Pat will be remembered for her easy smile, caring heart and strong conviction. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and friend. She will be missed tremendously. Gone too soon but her spirit will guide us forever.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at the Stratford Country Club (53 Romeo St. N.) on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 3:00 p.m. To honour Pat’s vibrant personality and love of life, we ask that you wear casual, bright attire.
Memorial donations to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth or Happy’s Place Dog Rescue would be appreciated by family, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel. You can also Hike for Hospice in Pat’s memory on Sunday June 23, 2024.
Sincere thanks for the compassionate care provided by all of the wonderful nurses, staff and volunteers at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth and the Palliative Care Outreach Team. Her end of life was filled with love, attentive care and dignity.
