Palle Hansen Obituary
Palle passed away peacefully at Chapman House on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with his wife of 69 years by his side. Palle was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and Morfar.
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark on July 16, 1932, Palle Ditmar Hansen of Annan, was in his 92nd year.
Palle leaves behind his wife Anne Hansen (née Petersen) of Annan, daughters Annette Hansen (Clinton Groth) of King City and Mimi Hansen (Michael Williams) of Owen Sound, and two grandchildren, Michelle and Spencer.
Predeceased by his daughter Lisa and his parents, Hans and Elise Hansen.
Palle was educated in Copenhagen, Denmark and immigrated to Canada with Anne in 1956. His 42 year career as a Professional Engineer started with designing bridges and piers and ended as Building Commissioner of the City of York. Over the years, Palle enjoyed building his own cottage, travelling, watercolour painting and spending time with family and friends.
Palle’s family would like to extend many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Chapman House, with a special thank you to Dr. Collins for his exceptional care.
In keeping with Palle’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
