On Thursday January 19th, at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, surrounded by family, Owen, journeyed into the Spirit World. Owen succumbed to pneumonia after a brief battle with the common cold. The family is deeply saddened at the sudden and unexpected passing of Owen.
Owen was born on February 19, 1988 to parents Harriet Nataweyous and Bennett Keeper. Owen enjoyed working as a carpenter and loved to cook. Owen was always fast to lend a helping hand for friends and family.
Our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend left us on Thursday, January 19, 2023 to enter into the Spirit World. He leaves behind:

His paternal Grandfather: Albert Keeper
His maternal Grandmother: Celine Toutsaint
His Step Grandmother:Joyce Pelland
His uncles & aunts: Joe Ben (Rachel), Nelson (Anissa), Rose (John), Leon (Donna), Tammy, Leroy (Tanisha), Virginia, Wayne, Lisa (Dale), Mark, Nora (Chris), Kenneth (Elaine), Frederick (Janet), Sandra, Freda (Lawrence), and Debra (Lisa)
His great aunts & uncles: Anne, Eleanor, Modest (Cecilia), Jimmy, Lucy (Gary), Alex, Freda (Francis), Clara (Ron), Joanie

His numerous cousins, nieces and nephews from Thompson, Lac Brochet, Split Lake, Prince Albert,
Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Mohawk Territory.
Family and friends are invited to the Wake on Thursday, January 26, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Boardman/Northland Funeral Home, 28 Nelson Rd, Thompson, Mb. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 114 Cree Rd, officiated by Father Joseph, followed by interment at Thompson Cemetery. Following the interment, we will gather back at St. Lawrence Hall for a celebratory feast.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Thompson hospital and Health Sciences Centre for all the love and care Owen received at both hospitals. Many thanks to Taylor Veuillot, Lucy Antsanen, Andrea St. Pierre, Lisa Larocque, Linda Veuillot, Sharon McKay, the catering staff at Awasis Agency, Chief & Council of Northlands Dene First Nation, fundraisers, Mary Jane and Jean St.Pierre: thank you for all your help during this difficult time. There are numerous others that have provided support to the Family, we want to thank you for all you have done for us. Maci-chok!
