Omer “John” Henri Houle
(February 10, 1942 – June 10, 2024)
Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Monday, June 10th, 2024, in his 82nd year. He will be remembered by his previous wife and mother of his children, Aline Petit, and continued lifelong friend. Beloved father to Daniel (Sharon), Richard, and Joanne (Rick). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Delcia (Mike), Marcel (Shannon), Mathieu, Stephanie (David), Christopher and Maxime (Stephenie), as well as his great grandchildren, Lillian, Ayden, Asher, Charlie and Jackson. He will be missed by his siblings: Roger (Joanne), Denis (Diane), Lorette (Gilles), Noëline, Henri (Therese), as well as his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Armand and Louisanna Houle (Dagenais), as well as his brothers, Jacques, Yvan, Gabriel and his sisters Rita and Germaine. Omer was born in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario where he resided for most of his life. He recently moved to Welland, Ontario in 2021. Omer worked for the Ottawa French Catholic School Board for many years. In his pastime, he enjoyed fishing, camping, skiing, watching the Montreal Canadiens and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Thank you to the staff at the Foyer Richelieu for their care and support over the past 2 years. “John” loved you all so much. A special thank you to Father Sunil of St. Kevin’s Catholic Church. A private viewing for immediate family will take place at H.L. Cudney Funeral Home in Welland, Ontario. Cremation to follow.
