Olive passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on April 15th, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Ollie is predeceased by her husband Lindsay Arnold, parents James and Olive Bishop (Blackwood), twin sister Shirley Howse, brother-in-law Chester Howse, and brother Roy Bishop.
Ollie leaves to mourn 2 sons Glenn (Diane), Craig (Kim), and 3 daughters Jackie (Mike), Sandra (Robert), and Carole (Ron). Her brother Eliol Bishop (Daphne). 10 grandchildren; Glenda (Mike), Heather (Matthew), Jennifer (Shawn), Anthony (Alyssa), Riley, Lindsey (Jamie), Jonathan (Amanda), Shane (Paula), Andrew (Paige), and Angela (John). 16 great grandchildren; Kelsey (Kyle), Lucas (Kenzie), Colby, Tucker, Carter, Amelia, Auston, Luka, Gracie, Hattie, Dawson, Denver, Ryder, Noah, Olivia and Alanna. One great, great grandchild Bentley. Ollie also leaves to mourn a large circle of family and friends.
Ollie and her twin sister Shirley were born to James and Olive Bishop (Blackwood) in Glovertown on December 15, 1936. When Ollie was 3 weeks old, her mother passed away and she was raised by her Grandparents James and Emily Blackwood. Also helping to raise her was her Aunt Alice Sweeney (Blackwood) who raised them with her own son Ross Sweeney, who was like a brother to Ollie and Shirley. When Ollie was 20, she met her husband Lindsay Arnold of Traytown and they married in 1957. Ollie had 5 children and worked as a waitress and a store clerk. She was a faithful member of the United Church of the Glovertown Pastoral Charge. She was an organist, involved with the UCW, church choir, and the board of management. She rarely missed a Sunday church service and loved to get out and socialize with her friends.
We would like to thank the staff at Oram’s Baywatch Manor for caring for our Mom during her stay there and also Dr. Simpson in Glovertown for her care, as well as the doctors and nurses at James Paton Memorial hospital for everything they’ve done these past few days before her passing.
We are so saddened by the passing of our loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
Forever our guardian angel.
