On March 1, 2024 Olive Nighbor-Cahill (nee Friend) of Pembroke passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at Miramichi Lodge with family by her side. Cherished mother of Martin Nighbor (Dawna), North Bay, Stephen Nighbor, Anthony Nighbor (Robin Locke), and Mary-Lynn Kutchaw (Greg) all of Pembroke. Loving grandmother to Andrea, Kimberley, Leeanne, David, Andrew, Kyle, and Craig, step grandchildren Jeff (predeceased), David, and Chad, and 5 great grandchildren.
Sister of Beverly Lambert, Grace Covey, Percy and Patrick Friend.
Predeceased by her husbands Anthony Nighbor and Ray Cahill, daughter Arlene Laverty, son-in-law Bob Laverty, parents Louise (Yantha) and Stephen Friend, sisters Audrey, Gladys, Sandra, Violet, and brother David.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Olive with her family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street on Tuesday March 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 5th at 11:00 a.m.in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 280 Lourdesview Drive Pembroke. Interment St, Columba’s Cemetery.
Olives’ family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the caring staff of 2A, Miramichi Lodge. In memory of Olive, donations to Miramichi Lodge would be appreciated.
